Another fantastic week for our juvenile section, with football and camogie action across the club and plenty of great performances, teamwork and enjoyment.
Saturday 8th August
Our U12 girls travelled to St. Colmcille's for a fantastic U12 Fun Blitz, bringing together 20 teams from Meath and Dublin. The girls enjoyed games against Colmcille's, Castleknock, St. Sylvester's, Ballyfermot and Westmanstown Gaels. It was a brilliant day of football and fun in the sunshine, with a special parade from the Drogheda Marching Band to open the event. The girls rounded off a great day with a swim at Laytown Beach.
Sunday 9th August
Our U10 girls camogie team travelled to Na Fianna for a thrilling Go Games blitz against Boardsmill, Na Fianna and Drumree. The girls played four games and grew in confidence with every match, showing some fantastic skills and great team spirit throughout. Well done to all the girls involved.
Our U14 boys hurlers welcomed Wolfe Tones to Kilcloon. Despite having just 13 players available, the lads produced an excellent performance and showed that they are more than capable of competing at this level following their move up from Division 4. An injury to captain and Meath player Philip Daly just before half-time meant the team had to adjust, but the work rate and attitude remained outstanding throughout. Plenty of positives to take as they look ahead to their next game against Kilmessan.
Well done to all our players, coaches, mentors, referees and families for another brilliant week. It is fantastic to see our young players continuing to develop, enjoy their games and represent Blackhall Gaels with such pride.
