In Memory of Danny McCann
The Blackhall Gaels community extends our deepest sympathies to the McCann & Sheridan family on the passing of Danny McCann.
A proud Ratoath man and lifelong supporter of Meath GAA, Danny had a deep love for Gaelic Games. He played an important role in the development of the Ratoath GAA grounds during the late 1990s and early 2000s and, even throughout his long illness, continued to follow his beloved Ratoath and Meath whenever he could.
As his grandchildren Mia, Ben, Charlie and Donncha became part of Blackhall Gaels, Danny quietly supported them from the sidelines whenever he could. Though the colours were the same as his beloved Ratoath, he took great pride in watching them line out for Blackhall Gaels. He was also the much-loved grandfather of Jack.
Danny was the beloved father of Mark and Aishling, and father-in-law to John and Loretta. Loretta is a member of the Blackhall Gaels Executive Committee and Club PRO.
Having bravely faced a long illness, Danny passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mark, Aishling, John, Loretta, Jack, Mia, Ben, Charlie and Donncha, and to Danny's extended family and many friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad and difficult time.
Funeral Arrangements
Danny will repose at McEntaggart's Funeral Home, Ratoath (A85 DW27) on Monday, 3rd August, from 4pm until 7pm.
Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday at 11am in Holy Trinity Church, Ratoath, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to the Irish Cancer Society.
