Another busy week of juvenile football with plenty of determination, teamwork and encouraging performances across the club.
Monday
Our U16 boys footballers opened their Summer Development League with a hard-earned away victory over Cruicetown. In difficult weather conditions, the lads produced a superb defensive display, matched with great work rate and determination across the pitch. A brilliant start to the competition and an encouraging performance to build on ahead of the championship.
Friday
Our U17 LGFA girls bowed out at the semi-final stage against a strong Na Fianna side. Missing several regular starters, the girls battled bravely throughout and never gave up. This group has made tremendous progress over the past year, winning their first underage title at U16 level last autumn before stepping up a division and reaching another semi-final this season. It has also been fantastic to see a number of these players making their mark with our adult ladies team. Well done girls on a tremendous campaign.
Saturday
Our U9 boys footballers travelled to Dunboyne for a blitz against Dunboyne and Donaghmore/Ashbourne. With three BHG teams taking part, every player enjoyed plenty of football and continued to show excellent improvement in their skills and teamwork. It is great to see the confidence and development of this group growing week by week.
Well done to all our players, coaches, volunteers and families for another fantastic week. The continued progress across every age group is a credit to the commitment, encouragement and community spirit that makes Blackhall Gaels such a special club.
