Blackhall Gaels secured another valuable two league points on the road with a hard-fought victory over Ballivor in Kilcloon on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-16.
Playing into a strong wind in the opening half, the lads faced an early challenge as Ballivor raced into a seven-point lead, aided by three two-point scores. The response from Blackhall Gaels was impressive, however, with 2-3 unanswered turning the momentum and bringing the sides level once again.
Ballivor edged back in front before the break, leaving the halftime score at Blackhall Gaels 2-3, Ballivor 0-10.
The second half was a closely contested affair, with scores hard earned as both teams worked tirelessly in defence. While Blackhall Gaels had the advantage of the wind, Ballivor continued to battle strongly and kept the game in the balance right to the final whistle.
In the closing stages, determination, composure and hard work across the field helped Blackhall Gaels get over the line and secure a deserved one-point victory.
A great team effort from all involved and another important result as the league campaign continues.
