Blackhall Gaels G.A.A. club held a special fundraiser with two Irish legends, Ronnie Whelan and Steve Staunton on Friday, May 15th 2026.
The day kicked off with a four ball event on the manicured greens of Carton House Golf Course, where the Irish legends showcased some additional skills learned since hanging up their boots. A special thank you to Donal O’Leary and Liam Moriarty for their assistance throughout the day.
Following this, the main event began in The Hatchet Inn, superbly hosted by our own clubman Alan Keoghan.
A packed audience, including County Chairman Jason Plunkett, enjoyed an evening filled with stories and memories from two of Irish football’s finest. Their reflections on representing Ireland during the 1980s and 1990s kept everyone entertained from start to finish.
