U13 Boys Hurling – A Strong Week for the Lads ending August 17th, 2025
It was a busy and very productive week for our U13 hurlers the week before last, with two excellent performances in the Summer League — first away to Kiltale on Wednesday, followed by a home clash in Kilcloon against Ratoath on Friday 15th.
Match 1 – Wednesday (Away to Kiltale)
BHG 2-3 | Kiltale 1-2
A strong opening win for our U13 hurlers away to Kiltale, against a side that battled right to the end.
Our lads hit the ground running and went in at half-time 2-2 to 0-0, thanks to poacher’s goals from Jamie Larkin and Riley Kirwan, along with two fine points from Oisín Burke in midfield.
A second-half point from Tomás Hester stretched the lead before Kiltale came back strongly in the final 15 minutes. But the BHG boys dug deep, showed great determination, and halted the home side’s momentum to secure a deserved victory.
Match 2 – Friday 15th (Home v Ratoath in Kilcloon)
BHG 3-4 | Ratoath 2-5
Another steely performance in Kilcloon against a strong Ratoath side.
Two goals from Riley Kirwan and a fine point from Oisín Burke had BHG a point to the good at half time.
The second half ebbed and flowed as Ratoath gained the upper hand, but our lads showed superb willpower to stay in the game. Crucial saves from Jack Staunton kept us in contention, before points from Oisín Burke, Tomás Hester and Dan Crosbie edged us back. With just three minutes remaining, Crosbie found the back of the net to give BHG the lead once more.
The team stood strong in the closing stages to seal a hard-fought 2-point win.
Two games, two wins, and plenty of character shown — a brilliant week’s work from our U13 boys hurling team. Well done lads! 👏
