Blackhall Gaels 3-08 Skryne 1-10
Venue: Trim
Date: 31st October 2006

Blackhall Gaels Minors lifted the Minor Football Championship Division 2 title on Halloween night in Trim following a well earned victory over Skryne. Skryne got off to a flying start and were leading 0-08 points to 0-03 well into the first half. The game then turned when Tom Walsh reached highest for a ball around the square and blasted to the net which was followed by a Stephen Carty goal before half-time giving a Blackhall 2-03, Skryne 0-08 half-time score-line.
With Paddy Brady at mid-field and with Tom Walsh and Alan Nestor impressing up front Blackhall extended their lead early in the second half, a lead which Skryne could not peg back. In defence John and Enda Kelly did well as did goalkeeper Niall O'Carroll. Blackhall's lead was then extended with a third goal scored by Peter Burke. Skryne were awarded a penalty in the last minute from which they scored a goal but Blackhall went on to win on a score-line of Blackhall 3-08 Skryne 1-10.

The Minor Football team mentors are Ann Nestor, Jimmy Burke, Pat Brady, Ollie Mulligan and Paul Corcoran.
Well done to all involved - players and mentors alike.

Following the victory Blackhall's captain John McCabe accepted the cup from Ultan Fitzpatrick, Secretary of County Meath Minor Football Committee.
